Weather Update: The new heavy rainfall pattern in the month of Shravan is expected to cause severe weather patterns in many Indian states, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Delhi is also expected to get light to moderate rain today, and the IMD has issued a “yellow alert” for the entire day. According to the weather service, there will likely be scattered showers in several Uttar Pradesh districts, including Lucknow, and severe rainfall. The same is predicted in some areas of Madhya Pradesh, including Bhopal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow notice for Mumbai, Pune, Thane, and Palghar, and said that extremely heavy rainfall is expected in some other parts of Maharashtra.

The IMD has forecast heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, with the possibility of extremely severe precipitation in isolated locations. However, heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is predicted in some areas of states like Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, according to the India Meteorological Department. Heavy rain is expected in some areas of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. The same continues for some areas of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, according to the IMD.
