Weekend curfew will not be lifted in Delhi for now

In view of the increasing cases of Coronavirus, the weekend curfew imposed in Delhi will not be removed for the time being.

According to sources, Lieutenant Governor (LG) Anil Baijal does not agree with the proposal of the Kejriwal government to lift the weekend curfew.

Sources said that according to the Lieutenant Governor’s office, the decision to remove the weekend curfew and eliminate the odd-even system from the market will be taken after the situation of Corona improves further.

However, sources said that the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has agreed to run private offices with 50 percent capacity.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had sent a proposal to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal that the weekend curfew should be removed from Delhi. Also, private offices should be allowed to run with 50 percent capacity and the odd-even should be removed from the markets. It is being told that in view of the decreasing cases of Corona in Delhi, Chief Minister Kejriwal had approved the proposal.

On Thursday, 12,306 new corona cases were registered in the national capital Delhi in the last 24 hours, while the positivity rate is 21.48%. In the last 24 hours, new cases in Delhi also decreased and the positivity rate also came down.

However, 43 patients have died due to corona in the last 24 hours, which is the highest number of deaths in a single day in Delhi in the third wave.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Friday that today the corona cases have come down to 10,500 and the positivity rate at 17.5%. Now the peak seems to be coming out. Cases are decreasing.

When there were more cases of corona, strictness had to be done, now the cases are coming less, in view of this, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has taken some decisions – weekend curfew will be removed, private offices can now call 50% of the staff to the office and the markets The system of odd-even will be withdrawn.
