Many states are struggling due to the Corona surge in the country, West Bengal is also facing this deadly Corona Virus.
Recently assembly elections have been held and Mamata Banerjee is again in the power of the state.
Meanwhile the Mamata government in the state in view of Corona cases has announced lockdown in West Bengal.
After the first meeting of the cabinet of new government, the Chief Minister had told journalists – ‘We have taken drastic steps. The number of beds in hospitals (for Covid-19 patients) has been increased to 30,000 in the state. Oxygen plants have also been asked to be set up and they have been allowed to increase the number of beds on their own.”
Announcing the lockdown, Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay said that wearing masks and social distancing will be strictly followed. Police have been ordered to take strict action against those who do not do so. Those who violate the lockdown will not only be challaned but a case will also be registered on them under the Pandemic Act .
Restrictions during lockdown –
1.All private and government offices, school-colleges, cinema halls, shopping malls, gyms, market complexes, restaurants, bars etc. will be completely closed from Monday in West Bengal, exemption of essential service.
- Vegetable market, fruits, power, milk, modikhana etc. will be open from 7 am to 10 am
3.Sweet shops will be open from 10 am to 5 pm, medicine and glasses shops will be open regularly.
- Local trains, metro railways, launch-ferry services, bus services will remain closed, private vehicles and taxis are allowed to be transported only for patients.
5.Restrictions on all types of social, educational, political, religious ceremonies, factories will also be closed.
- 30 percent laborers will work in Jute mills
- Permission of 50 people for marriage ceremonies and 20 for cremation
