Digital Health ID: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission in September 2021. As part of this initiative, every Indian can receive a digital health ID card which carries all his significant health information.
Through the digital health ID, hospitals, patients, medical insurance companies and other stakeholders can access all the required information in real-time.
The introduction of Digital Health ID coincided with the third anniversary of the rollout of the PM Jan Arogya Yojana or PM-JAY.
PM-DHM or PM Digital Health Mission is based on the trinity of Jan Dhan, Mobile and Adhar. Furthermore, this mission will create interoperability within the digital health mission, similar to UPI in the financial payment space.
