Gurugram rape: A 27-year-old woman techie in Gurugram was allegedly drugged and raped by a man in his car parked in the basement of a mall. The accused, Tushar Sharma, had called the woman on the pretext of a job interview and raped her after giving her sedative-laced water. The rape survivor lodged a complaint at the women’s police station in Sector 51, where she explained that she had been seeking a job online and got in touch with Sharma, who promised to land her a job.
Survivor describes her ordeal of being raped in the mall parking area
On the day of the alleged incident, the victim went to Sahara Mall with her documents for the interview. Sharma then drove them to the mall’s basement and offered her water. After consuming it, she lost consciousness, and the accused pushed her inside his car and raped her. He then threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident, before leaving her in the mall parking area and fleeing.
Accused booked under various sections of IPC
The police took the woman to the hospital for a medical examination after receiving the complaint. An FIR was registered against Tushar Sharma under sections 328, 376, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. The police are seeking CCTV footage from the mall management to gather more evidence and trying to apprehend the accused.
