Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan has extended his wishes on World Youth Skills Day 2023 via Twitter. He has said government remains committed towards youth empowerment and unlocking the limitless potential of ‘Yuva Shakti.’
The day is celebrated to mark importance of developing skills in youth to take the future of the country forward. The need to curate skills by means of education institutions, government effort and various industries is significant to develop a force for job markets. The theme for World Youth Skills Day 2023 is ‘Skilling teachers, trainers and youth for a transformative future.’
Skill India
On this day in 2015 Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched National Skills Development Mission of India. It was initiated with a goal of training 30 crore Indian youth in various skills by 2022.
The government has made various investments over skill development under this mission and youth including a large number of women have received training in skilled work . A Skill India International Centre for training youths will be set up in Bhubaneswar with a goal to enhance overseas opportunity for the skilled workers.
For SkillIndia mission the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is developing models to dispense learning through a comprehensive and organised network of skill development centres. The skills that are provided serves lifelong benefits and employment opportunities with cross-skills development being a high priority.
