PM Modi Pune Visit: Youth Congress members posted “Go back Modi” posters all over the city in advance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s visit to Pune on Tuesday. Posters protesting the turmoil in Manipur have been put up in various areas of Pune by the young section of the opposition Congress party. Pune has seen the posting of posters in opposition to a number of causes, including the violence in Manipur. One of the posters read “Go back Mr. Crime Minister”. Another poster read, “Mr Prime Minister, go to Manipur, face the Parliament”. “We are in touch with the Pune Municipal Corporation to remove these unauthorised posters,” a senior police official told PTI.
PM Modi’s Pune Visit Amidst Opposition’s Demonstrations
The opposition has been demonstrating against the BJP-led national administration for a number of concerns, including unemployment, increased crime against women, and violence in Manipur. Tuesday, PM Modi will travel to Pune and offer puja at the Dagdusheth Mandir. PM Modi will receive the Lokmanya Tilak National Award and lay the cornerstone for a number of construction initiatives. To recognise Lokmanya Tilak’s legacy, Tilak Smarak Mandir Trust established the Lokmanya Tilak National Award in 1983. It is granted in recognition of a noteworthy and exceptional contribution to the advancement and development of the country.
PM Modi to Inaugurate Development Projects and Waste to Energy Plant
Every year on August 1—the anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak’s passing—it is delivered. The Prime Minister will officially launch and lay the cornerstone for many development projects at 12:45 p.m. The Waste to Energy Plant run by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will also be opened by Prime Minister Modi. In opposition to PM Modi’s arrival on Tuesday, INDIA members are also organising a protest. The opposition alliance members claimed in a release that the prime minister had time to visit other nations but not Manipur, where ethnic classes have been taking place since early May.
