Bike Maintenance: You are aware that there are several tasks to be completed before your motorbike is ready to be driven if it has been kept inside a garage. In this article, we will share with you 5 bike maintenance chores you can do at home to get your bike ready to go.
5 Bike Maintenance chores you can do at home
1. Put fresh petrol
The first thing to do after a prolonged period of non-riding is to replace the petrol in your motorbike. Too much time spent with petrol in the tank causes it to go bad. After removing any leftover gas from the tank using a syphon pump, fill it up with new gasoline.
2. Change the oil
Before you go for your first ride, you need change the oil and replace the oil filter, just like you require clean fuel. Your motorcycle’s longevity and performance may suffer if this step is skipped.
3. Check your tyres
Since tyres are among the most crucial components of any car, you should give them some thought. Make sure their air pressure is at a safe level before you ride. To make sure your tread still has the depth to provide you with appropriate traction, you should also check it. Before continuing, simply check your tyres for any rot or cracks in the sidewall if your tread and air pressure are both correct.
4. Check the chain
One of the most important parts of your bike is the chain, but it can weaken or come loose from repeated exposure to the environment. Make sure everything is still tight and lubricated by checking. It might be necessary for you to reapply lube and clean the chain.
5. Clean your bike
As a last step, be sure to thoroughly clean your motorbike. Frequently cleaning your bike not only preserves its paint finish and improves its appearance, but it also improves its functionality.
