Thus, you must replace the windscreen wipers if they are malfunctioning. In this article, we will tell you How To Replace Windshield Wipers, Read on to know.
How To Replace Windshield Wipers
Find the right size wiper blade
You can take your own measurements of the blade claw width or consult a mechanic. You can select single or multiple edges, rubber or silicone blades, plastic or metal backing, and universal or specialised fit.
Lift the wipers from the glass
The windscreen wiper blades apply force to the glass via spring-loaded action. Before removing the blades, raise them completely off the windscreen. Take care to prevent the wiper arms from springing back, as this could lead to glass damage.
Remove the old wiper blades
Squeeze the clip on the end of each old wiper blade to remove it from the wiper assembly. You may need to use a pair of long-nose pliers to help release the clip.
Slide on the new blades
Slide the replacement wiper blade through the wiper assembly’s claws until the clip snaps in at the end. To guarantee the blades can’t come loose and harm your windscreen, make sure the claws are in the proper groove and that you haven’t missed any.
Check that the new wiper blades work well
Place the wiper assembly back onto the windscreen with caution. A wash additive can be added if desired, and make sure the water in your windscreen washer container is full. Use the windscreen washer feature on the car to make sure the wipers are operating properly now.
