Dehradun News: In response to recent incidents involving allegations of food tampering, Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Abhinav Kumar has announced a comprehensive action plan to address concerns over hygiene and public sentiments. Referring to recent cases, including an incident in Mussoorie where two individuals were arrested after being accused of spitting in food, Kumar emphasized that such actions not only breach health standards but also hurt religious sentiments.

The DGP has issued an eight-point directive to all Superintendents of Police (SPs) across the state. The guidelines mandate verification of cooking and serving staff to ensure that they maintain cleanliness and uphold hygiene standards in food preparation areas. Additionally, CCTV surveillance is to be implemented wherever cooking takes place to monitor activities and ensure compliance with the regulations.
