Delhi High Court Fraud Alert: In recent times, a new type of scam has been making the rounds. You might receive a call from an unknown number that doesn’t appear as spam. When you answer, the caller claims to be from the Delhi High Court, stating that you have been summoned. They will instruct you to press 9, 1, or 0 for more details. However, pressing any of these numbers can lead to serious consequences.
Rising Incidents of Fraudulent Calls
Numerous individuals have reported experiencing these phoney calls. Some have reported receiving calls purporting to be from the electricity department, threatening to cut off their power if they don’t pay their bill, along with fictitious calls from the Delhi High Court.
On social networking site X, a scriptwriter recently wrote about his experience receiving a call like that. His thread revealed the fact that many other people had fallen victim to similar scams and made people aware of how easily innocent individuals might be duped.
