- West Bengal
- Punjab
This closure results from Diwali (Deepawali), Naraka Chaturdashi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birthday, and Kali Puja. Therefore, residents in these states should plan their banking activities accordingly.
November 1, 2024: More Bank Holidays
Moving on to November 1, banks will also close in various states, including:
- Maharashtra
- Manipur
- Karnataka
- Sikkim
- Tripura
- Jammu and Kashmir
This day marks Diwali Amavasya (Laxmi Pujan) and is celebrated as Govardhan Pooja in some regions. As a result, customers in these states need to make arrangements in advance.
November 2, 2024: Extended Closures
Furthermore, banks will remain closed on November 2 in the following states:
- Gujarat
- Maharashtra
- Karnataka
- Uttar Pradesh
- Rajasthan
- Sikkim
- Uttarakhand
This date holds significance for Bali Pratipada, Balipadyami, and Laxmi Puja (Deepawali), along with Vikram Samvant New Year. Hence, it’s wise for customers to complete any necessary banking tasks beforehand.
November 3, 2024: Weekly Closure
Additionally, all banks will be closed on Sunday, November 3, 2024, as this is a regular weekly holiday. This date also marks the celebration of Bhai Dooj. Customers should therefore consider their needs ahead of time.
