Dr KK Aggarwal, Padma Shri and former IMA president, succumbs to Covid-19

Dr K.K. Agarwal, a Padma Shri awardee and former chief of Indian Medical Association has died on Monday night due to Covid-19. He was 62.

According to a statement issued on his Twitter account, the died at 11:30 pm on Monday night at a Delhi hospital.

“Even during the pandemic, he made constant efforts to educate the masses and was able to reach out to over 100 million people through numerous videos and educational programmes and saved countless lives,” the statement said.

“He wanted his life to be celebrated and not mourned. His spirit of spreading positivity in the direst of circumstances must be kept alive in each one of us. Let us remember him for his work and indomitable spirit,” it added.

After testing positive for Covid-19, Dr K.K. Agarwal was admitted to AIIMS and was put on ventilator after his health deteriorated.

Dr Agarwal was presented with Padma Shri in 2010.
