Driving License Rule: The rules for obtaining a driver’s license have been modified by the government. People are not required to take a driving test at a Regional Transport Office (RTO) run by the government. Rather, private organizations are now permitted to administer exams and provide certification that the individuals they have trained are eligible to receive driver’s licenses.
Stricter Emissions Regulations
The public has been notified through notifications that the regulations will take effect on June 1, 2024. The emphasis on the environment in the new regulations is a noteworthy feature. Stricter rules on vehicle emissions will be implemented, and about 900,000 outdated government vehicles will be phased out.
A speeding fine ranges from Rs 1000 to Rs 2000. A minor faces a fine of Rs 25,000 if they are found to be operating a vehicle. The owner of the vehicle will lose their driving registration card, and minors won’t be able to obtain a license until they are 25 years old.
New Rules for Private Driving Training Centres
Minimum Land Requirement
There must be at least one acre of land for the facility. An extra two acres of land are needed at 4-wheeler motor driving centers.
Suitable Testing Facility
A suitable testing facility must be accessible to a driving instruction center.
Qualifications for Trainers
A high school diploma or its equivalent is a prerequisite for employment as a trainer. They also need to have at least five years of driving experience. The principles of information technology systems and biometrics should be understood by trainers.
Training Duration
Training for light vehicles must be finished in less than four weeks and require a minimum of twenty-nine training hours. There should be a minimum of two sections to this training: theoretical and practical. There should be eight hours of theoretical work and twenty-one hours of practical work.

- In doing so, the application form will open. If necessary, you can decide to print it.
- Complete the application form accurately and with all the requested information.

- Pay the application using the instructions that are provided.
- You can apply offline or online, based on your preferences.
- Once the application procedure is finished, go to the RTO to turn in the required paperwork and demonstrate your driving abilities.
- Your application for a driver’s license will be accepted and you will receive the license in accordance with your driving ability.
Heavy Motor Vehicle Training
There will be 38 hours of training for heavy motor vehicles, which consists of 31 hours of practical preparation and 8 hours of theoretical instruction. Within six weeks, this training is supposed to be finished. With the help of these regulations, private driving schools will be held to a high standard of instruction and readiness for prospective drivers of both light and heavy vehicles.
