Durga Puja 2022: Bengalis are known for their grandeour and devotion during Durga Puja. Though, their celebration in West Bengal is famous throughout the corners, the one in Delhi’s CR Park will surely assure you that Bengalis keep their faith alive irrespective of where they are. Known to be the home of a large Bengali community in Delhi, the area organises mega Durga Puja celebration to mark their favourite festival with magnificent pandals.

This year, Navratri began from September 26th. Though, Durga Puja celebrations always begin from the sixth day of Navratri (Sashti) and this year, the sixth day falls on October 1st.
Known for one of the best celebration in Delhi NCR
Chittaranjan Park or CR Park is one of the key centres for Bengalis and non-Bengalis in Delhi and NCR to see the Durga Pujo events. The CR Park region, which is home to a big Bengali community, hosts a massive Durga Pujo event each year, complete with gorgeous pandals. The celebrations, which were hindered by COVID for the previous two years, are once again in full flow. Have a look at the pandals organised in CR Park:
1. CR Park Kali Mandir: The Kali Mandir or Kali Bari at CR Park celebrates Durga Puja in the traditional style, with a pandal and decor that is equally traditional. The Durga Puja pandal is set up on the main grounds of the Kali Bari premises, with food and shopping stalls surrounding the marquee.
2. Mela Ground: One of Delhi’s largest idols can be found during this Durga Puja pandal, which is located at Mela Ground in CR Park. Even while the celebrations are once again in full swing, much as they were before Covid, the puja committee has decided to proceed with a smaller 14-foot idol this year rather than the customary 17-foot idol. This year, the celebration is based on ‘Raj Bari’ theme.
3. B Block: If you’re visiting CR Park for pandal hopping, you can’t miss B block. This Durga Puja is held on a ground in CR Park’s B Block and is known for its theme-based pandals and food kiosks. The puja committee has decided to proceed with the theme ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ this year. This is also their 47th year of celebrating Durga Puja.

4. Co-operative Ground Durga Puja: This Durga Puja pandal at Co-operative Ground in CR Park’s K block is one of the most well-known in the area, and each year it displays a theme-based pandal. It also has a variety of stalls selling exquisite food as well as clothing, home decor, and other products.
According to a press release, the Cooperative Ground Durga Puja Samity will celebrate its 47th year of the Durga Puja festival on September 30 with the theme ‘Bonedi Baarir Pujo’ – the legendary Pujo of the landowners (Zamindars) in Bengal’s yesteryears.
5. Navapalli: This year, the five-day celebration is being celebrated in magnificent style at Navapalli Durga Puja at Pocket 40 in CR Park.
