Dussehra 2022: One of the most anticipated and prominent festival of Hindus, Dussehra, is just around the corner. This year, the celebrations embark on the 5th of October. Signified as the triumph of good over evil, the festival has many forms to it. Not just in India, but, in other nations also, the craze and devotion for the festival remains the same.

Dussehra marks the end of Navratri and beginning of the wait for Diwali. The faith for Hindus goes undaunted as far as the festival goes. Have a look at the Muslim countries where Dussehra is celebrated just as similar as India.
1. Indonesia
Surprising to many, Indonesia, a Islamic country has deep-rooted affection for Ramayana. They even have their own version of the story with some tweaks. Every year, Dussehra is celebrated in the country with much pomp. Ramayana in Indonesia is known as “Kakawin Ramayana”. The celebration is not only limited to burning the effigies of Ravana and his brother, but, a proper theatrical plays are enacted which show the complete legend of Ramayana.
2. Malaysia

Known by the name of ‘Hikayat Seri Rama’ in Malaysia, they also celebrate the festival as their own. Their adaption has the same story as that of India, but, they have just tweaked it with minor changes for better local understanding. Every year, theatrical plays are enacted with much pomp and Dussehra goes on the similar way like India. There are many ancient temples and places in Malaysia where the legendary story of Ramayana is preserved through cave paintings and many other ways.
3. Bangladesh
Dussehra in Bangladesh is a five-day event that is celebrated in mandaps (congregation).The biggest event is held in Dhaka at the RamKrishna Missionary and the Dhakeshwari Temple. Clay figurines of the Goddess Durga are immersed in waterways on the day of Dasha Hara. Turmeric and other pooja items are used in the pooja, and they are also added to the river to assist the water produce greater crops.
