Higher education in India has received a shot in the arm as the North Eastern Council (NEC), under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, rolls out its scholarship scheme. Designed to foster the pursuit of higher studies, the programme caters to students from the North-Eastern states who are enrolled in various disciplines across the nation.
This initiative will support aspirants from diploma level up to doctoral research in government-recognized institutions. For students pursuing their M.Phil and Ph.D. courses, they will be granted their scholarship allowances following their respective university registration. However, to maintain the accessibility of the scheme, only those students who hail from families with a yearly income not exceeding ₹8,00,000 are deemed eligible.
Capitalising on Opportunities: What Amount of Aid Can Be Anticipated?
The scholarship program, upheld by NEC, demonstrates their dedication to the proliferation of education, providing an annual stipend commensurate with the degree level. Scholars at the diploma level will be accorded ₹20,000 each year, while undergraduates are set to acquire ₹22,000. Those undertaking postgraduate studies are eligible for ₹25,000, with M.Phil and Ph.D. candidates entitled to the highest annual remittance of ₹30,000.A Glance at Scholarship Allocation across States
