Lalbaugcha Raja
During Mumbai’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, Lalbaugcha Raja is a legendary name. This pandal draws followers from all walks of life because of its enormous crowds and colourful celebrations. It is a must-visit location because of the intricate decorations and strong devotion to Lord Ganesha.
Khetwadi Cha Ganraj
Located in the 12th lane of Khetwadi, this pandal is renowned for its towering Ganesh idols. Starting in 1984 with a simple donation of Rs 1, Khetwadi Cha Ganraj has grown to feature idols as tall as 40 feet. Its impressive heights and creative themes have made it a significant attraction in the festival’s history.
Andhericha Raja
Founded by blue-collar workers in 1966, Andhericha Raja is famous for hosting one of Mumbai’s longest visarjan (immersion) processions. With its stunning decorations and large-scale celebrations, it continues to draw thousands of devotees each year.
Chinchpokli Chintamani
Established in 1920, Chinchpokli Cha Raja, or Chintamani, is located on Dattaram Lad Marg. This pandal, visited by over 700,000 people daily, epitomizes the festival’s spirit of tradition and community. It represents the Konkan region’s heritage and the historical migration of its people to Mumbai.
Girgaon Cha Raja
Girgaon Cha Raja, founded by Lokmanya Tilak, is renowned for its environmentally friendly Ganesh statue, which is dressed in a traditional Maharashtrian Pheta (turban). Due to its historical significance and dedication to sustainability, this pandal is held in great regard during Ganesh Chaturthi.
