Hero Electric scooter: The same Munjal family that gave rise to Hero MotoCorp also produced Hero Electric. Dayanand and Munjal Brijmohan Lall’s businesses have changed names to Hero MotoCorp and Hero Electric, respectively. Both businesses now fall under different guises and have numerous sub-brands.
EV-only label One of India’s first 2W electric vehicle manufacturers is Hero Electric. Hero Electric is currently India’s top-selling electric 2W brand, so sales data also reflect this. Okinawa previously occupied this position. But the business is now employing creative strategies to boost EV sales.
Free Electric Scooter Under New Hero Electric Offer
One of Kerala’s most popular festivals is Onam. Hero Electric has therefore announced that it will give away a free electric scooter to every 100th customer in Kerala in order to boost sales on this auspicious occasion. Hero Electric is making this offer to signal the start of the holiday season in God’s own country, Kerala.

Mr. Sohinder Gill, CEO of Hero Electric, commented on the matter, saying, “We are committed to accelerating EV adoption in the nation and believe that such celebrations are the best time to embrace change in mindset, accelerating the adoption of green mobility solutions. In Kerala, Onam signals the start of lengthy extravaganza celebrations, showing an overall upbeat customer sentiment.“

He further said that, “At Hero, we want to deepen EV penetration by interacting and connecting with our customers in order to make more inroads into the hinterland. By making a special offer to our customers this Onam, the company revolutionise the adoption of electric vehicles throughout Kerala.”
Hero Electric sold with a recording growth of 112.01% YoY
Hero Electric outsold competitors like Ola, Ather, Revolt, Bajaj, TVS, Ampere by Greaves, and even Okinawa, which is regarded as a heavyweight in this market, when it comes to electric 2W sales. Hero Electric sold 8,953 units in July 2022, up 4,730 from the previous year and recording growth of 112.01% YoY. They have a 22.52% market share in 2W EV and registered 37.65% MoM sales.
