Honda has been trying to bring the HR-V in India since 2019. And the five-seater SUV is now expected to arrive in India , possibly during the festive season.
The HR-V is a mid-size SUV that will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, and Renault Duster, as well as the slow-moving BR-V from Honda India.
History
The first-generation HR-V was introduced in 1999, and the second-generation was introduced in 2014. The current model is a facelift that was introduced in ASEAN markets in 2016, and it will be introduced in India as well. It has the same dimensions and is built on the same platform as the City and Jazz. The HR-V has a wheelbase of 2610mm and a ground clearance of 180mm. The current generation of the HR-V is a stylish vehicle. It adopts Honda’s new design language, first seen on the CR-V.
Price
The vehicle is built on the same platform as the Honda City and Jazz in India, and it is powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The HR-V should cost between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom India).
Fuel Economy
Front-wheel-drive models have the best fuel economy estimates, with 26 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. The city rating drops to 25 mpg and the highway rating drops to 30 mpg when equipped with all-wheel drive. On our 75-mph highway fuel-economy test route, the HR-V outperformed the EPA estimate by 2 mpg. We also drove 440 miles on the highway on one tank of gas.
