PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated a number of Rs. 13,375 crore educational initiatives today. The projects include the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design, and Manufacturing in Kancheepuram, the Indian Institute of Skills in Kanpur, the permanent campuses of IIT Bhilai, IIT Tripuati, and IIT-Jammu, as well as two campuses of Central Sanskrit University in Devprayag, Uttarakhand, and Agartala, Tripura.
New Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs)
Three new Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) in Jammu, Bodh Gaya, and Vishakhapatnam were recently opened by the prime minister. He has also inaugurated 13 new Navodaya Vidyalayas and 20 new Kendriya Vidyalayas in diverse locales. In addition, he has set the groundwork for five campuses of Kendriya Vidyalaya, one campus of Navodaya Vidyalaya, and five multipurpose halls for Navodaya Vidyalayas spread throughout India.
Government’s Health Services Initiative
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Vijaypur (Samba), Jammu, was officially opened by Prime Minister Modi as part of his government’s efforts to offer comprehensive, high-quality, and holistic tertiary-care health services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, according to officials. In February 2019, the Prime Minister himself lay the foundation stone for the institute, which was founded under the federal government’s ‘Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana’.
The hospital was built at a cost of more than Rs 1,660 crore and occupies 227 acres. A commercial centre, residential housing for faculty and staff, hostels for undergraduate and graduate students, a medical college with 125 seats, a nursing college with 60 seats, an AYUSH block with 30 beds, and 720 beds are among its many amenities.
Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu Initiative
In addition, Modi met with recipients of various programmes under the ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu’ initiative and gave appointment letters to over 1,500 recently hired government employees in Jammu and Kashmir.
