Independence Day 2023: During his speech on the 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the historic Red Fort. He expressed his unwavering commitment to leading the nation forward and highlighted his intention to secure another term in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha election.
PM Modi Believes India To Be Developed By 2047
“The next five years are for unprecedented development. The biggest golden moment to realise the dream of 2047 is the next five years. The next time, on August 15, I will present before you the achievements and developments of the country from this Red Fort,” PM Modi said.
Departing from his previous address style of referring to the citizens as “my fellow citizens,” the Prime Minister now embraced a more familial tone, addressing the people of India as “my family members” (parivaarjan). This shift in terminology reflected his deep-rooted connection with the populace.
This marked the Prime Minister’s tenth consecutive Independence Day speech, and he utilized the occasion to reiterate his vision for the future of India. He shared a poem, urging the people to join hands in achieving the ambitious goal he had set for the nation – the transformation of India into a developed nation by the time the country celebrates its 100 years of freedom in 2047. He emphasized the significance of this collective endeavor, encouraging citizens to work together to ensure that when the tricolour flag is raised in 2047, it represents a developed India.
“Chalta chalata kaal chakra, Amrit kaal ka bhaal chakra, sabke sapne apne sapne, panpe sapne saare, dheer chale veer chale, chale yuva humare, neeti sahi reeti naayi, gati sahi raah nayi, chuno chunauti seena taan, jag mein badhao desh ka naam…”
In essence, Prime Minister Modi’s speech resonated with determination, hope, and a sense of shared responsibility. He outlined his aspiration for a progressive and prosperous India, effectively conveying his dedication to steering the nation towards development and growth.
