From IIT Delhi Gold Medalist to Swami Sundar Gopal Das

Sandeep Kumar Bhatt attended IIT Delhi for his engineering education. He won the gold medal for his class in 2002. After earning his M.Tech in 2004, he spent three years working for Larsen & Toubro before growing tired of the opulent lifestyle and quitting in 2007. He chose to become a monk at the young age of 28, changing his name to Swami Sundar Gopal Das. Swami Sundar Gopal Das once said in an interview about his decision to become a monk that although society has many engineers, doctors, IAS, judges, scientists, and leaders, we will not be able to find anyone whose goal is to show a different path to society or to develop people’s character.
