Karwa Chauth 2023: Karwa Chauth, the auspicious festival, is soon coming. It takes place in the Hindu month of Kartik during the Krishna Paksha Chaturthi. The day is also dedicated to the worship of Lord Ganesha, Sankashti Chaturthi. On the day of Karwa Chauth, married women observe a strict nirjala fast, during which they forgo food and liquids in an effort to ensure the longevity, prosperity, and security of their spouses.
A Day of Devotion, Fasting, and Celebrating Love
From sunrise till the sighting of the moon at night, this auspicious fast is observed. Women congregate to do Karwa Chauth puja, narrate the story of Karwa Chauth, and break their fast by taking a sip of water and a bite of food from their husbands’ hands when the moon is visible. What to do before starting your first Karwa Chauth fast
Red Clothes: Wearing red clothing is especially lucky on the day of Karva Chauth. If a woman is fasting for the first time, she should wear her wedding gown. However, you can also wear any other red clothing. It is not advisable to dress in white, brown, or black on this particular day.
Solah Sringar: Women fast on Karwa Chauth in remembrance of their husbands’ long lives. So on the day of Karva Chauth, you have to do sohla Srinagar, get your hands hennaed, and look your best. Chauth Mata is said to be happy and to grant great luck by doing this.
Baya On Karwa Chauth: For the first time, women who are keeping the Karva Chauth fast are given Baya by their maternal house. This includes food goods such as fruits, candy, clothing, etc. By all means, Baya needs to be reached before the evening puja.
