Ladki Behen Yojana: Maharashtra Government Announces Diwali Bonus for ‘Ladki Behen Yojana’ Beneficiaries

Ladki Behen Yojana: The Maharashtra state government has introduced the ‘Ladki Behen Yojana’ to provide financial assistance to women, aimed at empowering them economically. Under this scheme, eligible women receive a monthly financial aid of ₹1,500. In a special Diwali gesture, the state government has announced an additional bonus for the beneficiaries of this scheme.

Diwali Bonus Announcement

As part of the festive celebration, all eligible women under the ‘Ladki Behen Yojana’ will receive a Diwali bonus of ₹3,000, the government announced. Additionally, a selected group of women will receive an extra ₹2,500. This means some women will get a total benefit of ₹5,500 (₹3,000 + ₹2,500) during the festive season. This bonus will be in addition to the regular monthly financial aid they receive.

Scheme Overview and Eligibility

The ‘Ladki Behen Yojana’ is one of the government’s flagship initiatives aimed at making women financially independent. The beneficiaries receive ₹1,500 directly into their bank accounts every month. To be eligible for this scheme, women must meet certain criteria: they must be residents of Maharashtra, aged between 21 and 60, and have an annual income below ₹2.5 lakh.

Empowering Women through Financial Support

The Diwali bonus is seen as an extension of the government’s commitment to supporting women economically. By providing this additional financial aid, the government hopes to alleviate some of the financial pressures women face, especially during the festive season.
