Mahindra XUV900 Electric SUV: A much-needed boost is going to be given to Mahindra’s ambitions to really globalise its passenger vehicle brand. On August 15 in the UK, the SUV expert will make the world debut of an entire new family of electric vehicles under the Born Electric brand.
At a huge event in Oxfordshire, UK, up to 5 new electric SUVs will be launched, one of which is probably going to be called XUV900. A designer from Mahindra, Pratyush Rout has created a speculative rendering of the flagship Mahindra electric SUV based on the teasers. Please be aware that Mahindra has neither commissioned nor approved the renderings in this article. They are based on the creative vision of the artist and Mahindra’s teasers.
Mahindra XUV900: A new Era:
As you can see, the manufacturer chose a completely new design identity in keeping with current trends around the world. The overused 7-slot front grill with Jeep-inspired styling has been retired. The front’s C-shaped LED lighting characteristic sets the tone for the overall streamlined style.
However, opinions about the front fascia’s general design could differ. The aerodynamic efficiency of the XUV900 is fully maximised by the profile. The drag coefficient is kept as low as possible by using smooth sheet metal surfaces, flat door handles, cameras in place of ORVMs, sharp side skirts, and aero-optimized wheels. No aerodynamic gain is too small to be pursued for a vehicle of this size.

With the exception of the sketches hinted at in a recent film, little is currently known about the interior. A sophisticated infotainment system with a bevvy of capabilities, a two-spoke steering wheel with several functions, and a colour instrument panel display that can be customised are all likely to be included in the new generation of electric Mahindras. Instead of being India-specific, the design, trims, colours, and materials should match international sensibilities.
Mahindra XUV900: Born Electric:
Under the direction of the company’s new design chief Pratap Bose, the Born Electric Mahindra SUVs are created in the UK at MADE (Mahindra Advanced Design Europe). Mahindra North American Technical Center is in charge of the majority of the development. Recently, Mahindra and the Volkswagen Group reached an agreement to share key elements of the German automaker’s popular MEB electric platform, which supports models like the VW ID4 and Audi Q4 e-tron. In addition to enabling Mahindra to enter the global EV market with a competitive package, the cooperation will also aid in lowering development costs and lead times.
On August 15, we anticipate the five SUVs to make their concept vehicle debuts. Market-ready versions will probably be available in two years. The corporation will put a stronger emphasis on markets including those in Europe and North America as a result of the new items.
