Maruti Suzuki: The company to launch YTB & Jimny 5 door next year, all you need to know before making up your mind

Maruti Suzuki: At the Auto Expo 2023, which begins on January 11 in New Delhi, Maruti Suzuki will debut not one but two new vehicles. The much awaited 5-door SUV Jimny makes its global premiere with a brand-new SUV coupe based on the current generation Baleno. Both versions are available through the Nexa dealer network of Maruti Suzuki.

The SUV coupe based on the Baleno will receive a 1.0-liter Boosterjet engine, while the Jimny 5-door will target Thar and Gurkha buyers. Both models will be marketed through Nexa outlets.

The 5-Door Version of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny Will Be Available in India Soon

Next month, the Jimny 5-Door will be unveiled for the first time in India, although its sale date and price will be disclosed later. August 2023. According to our sources, the main reason the 5-door Jimny being delayed is Marti’s intention to market the SUV as a leisure car with off-road equipment. This indicates that the 5-door Jimny will be released just before or during the monsoon season, often known as off-road season among sports aficionados.

This specialized market is now dominated by Mahindra Thar, Force Gurkha, and the defunct Marti Gypsy. By launching the 5-door Jimny during the off-road season, Maruti intends to capture a portion of this market segment. India will also be the parent plant for the 5-door version of the Jimny, as opposed to the 3-door version that is manufactured in India and Japan. This indicates that the Jimny 5 door is produced in India for both the domestic and international markets.

SUV coupe based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, expected release date

Maruti’s second and more mass-market vehicle to unveil at the Auto Expo will be a brand-new SUV coupe based on the Baleno. This SUV coupe is essentially a production version of the Maruti Futuro E Concept from the last Auto Expo; its internal codename is Maruti YTB. It will share its monocoque underpinnings, some body components, and the majority of the interior with the Baleno, but it will have its own identity, a distinct marketing brand, and the return of the 1.0-liter turbo-petrol Boosterjet engine that was offered in the previous-generation Baleno. The Maruti YTB or the SUV coupe based on the Baleno would likely be the first brand-new Maruti vehicle to go on sale in 2019, most likely in early April at the start of the next fiscal year.

Models to be released by Maruti Suzuki in 2023

The third significant introduction for the brand will be a brand-new three-row MPV supplied by Toyota and based on the recently launched Innova Hycross. This will be the most costly Maruti vehicle in India, surpassing the Grand Vitara. The projected pricing announcement and launch of Maruti’s C-MPV based on the Innova Hycross would likely occur during the 2023 holiday season, following the introduction of the Jimny 5-door.

Maruti is also preparing for the launch of the next-generation Swift Dzire in 2024. Both models are brand-new and equipped with potent hybrid drives.
