Maruti Swift CNG: The company has launched the long-awaited new Maruti Swift CNG in the Indian market following the introduction of the Dzire CNG. Both models use the same 1.2L petrol engine with CNG as standard fuel option. The new Swift CNG comes in two variants: VXI and ZXI, with prices starting at Rs 7.77 lakh and Rs 8.45 lakh, respectively (both prices ex-showroom).
Maruti Swift CNG variants are more expensive than that of petrol version
The new Maruti Swift CNG variants are approximately 96,000 more expensive than their petrol counterparts. It will compete with the Tata Tiago iCNG, which has received favourable feedback from car buyers. Tata Motors also offers a CNG version of the Tigor, which competes with the Maruti Dzire CNG.
Engine in the Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG is the same as in the Dzire CNG
A 1.2L NA petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit is fitted in it. This engine produces 77PS and 98.5Nm of torque, significantly less than the petrol-only model. The petrol engine generates 89bhp of power and 113Nm of torque which is almost same.
The luggage space was impacted by the CNG tank in the boot. The 10kg gas in the CNG tank has added to the weight at the back. MSIL has fitted slightly stiffer suspensions on the S-CNG variants to compensate for the extra weight.
It allows to switch between the two fuels
Aside from the headlight height adjustment control, there is an electronic switch that allows the driver to switch between the two fuels. CNG-related information is displayed on the MID, and a separate ECU controls engine parameters when CNG is selected.
