Maruti Swift CNG vs Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG: In the hatchback market, the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios are two fierce rivals. Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai recently added CNG choices to the Swift and Grand i10 Nios in response to rising fuel prices and a continuously increasing demand for CNG vehicles in the nation. Only new technical improvements have been made; both models’ external design has been carried over from the corresponding petrol variants.
There are two variants of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift S-CNG: VXi and ZXi. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG, on the other hand, comes in three variants: Magna, Sportz, and Asta.
Maruti Swift vs Hyundai Grand i10 Nios: Engine
The 1.2-liter K-series Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine that powers the standard Maruti Suzuki Swift S-CNG models is still in use. This engine produces 89 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 113 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm in the petrol mode, but just 76 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 98.5 pound-feet of torque at 4,300 rpm in the CNG mode. An automatic transmission with five speeds is included with this engine. The Swift S-CNG returns a fuel efficiency value of 30.90 km/kg, as approved by the testing organisation under Rule 115(G) of CMVR 1989.

A 1.2-liter, four-cylinder, normally aspirated petrol engine powers the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG models. In the gasoline mode, this engine produces 114Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm and 82bhp at 6,000 rpm. Whereas, in the CNG mode, the vehicle produces 68bhp at 6,000rpm and 95Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. This engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Maruti Swift vs Hyundai Grand i10 Nios: features
A leather-wrapped steering wheel, alloy wheels, motorised ORVMs, a rear defogger, front fog lamps, a rear wiper and washer, and a silver decoration on the front door armrest are among the features of the Swift CNG, depending on the type. Additionally, it includes a seven-inch SmartPlay Studio with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and push-button engine start-stop.
Projector headlamps, chrome door handles, 15-inch alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a cooled glove box, and an adjustable headrest in the second row are all features of the Grand i10 Nios, in contrast. The hatchback also features wireless charging, a chilled glove box, and a smart key with push-button start-stop.
Conclusion
For offering a CNG option across three models, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios receives extra points. Its CNG range is slightly less expensive than its competitor, starting at Rs 7.16 lakh and going up to Rs 8.45 lakh (ex-showroom). The Maruti Suzuki Swift S-CNG has an ex-showroom starting price of Rs. 7.77 lakh and a maximum price of Rs. 8.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
