Many employees were upset that Microsoft decided not to raise salaries this year. Additionally, a tweet from a staff member that referred to Microsoft’s move as a “slap in the face” gained attention. And now, Microsoft’s CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) has informed staff members that there is a method to modify this and receive a pay rise. According to a Fortune article, Microsoft CMO Christopher Capossela spoke to staff members in an inside conversation and explained how they may receive wage raises.
Regarding compensation increases, the Microsoft CMO
According to the Fortune article, Capossela stated in an internal message that trying to raise the company’s stock price is the best method to boost everyone’s overall remuneration. He continued, “So great quarterly results contribute to making the stock attractive, which in turn drives everyone’s total compensation up. The stock price is the most important lever for almost all our employees’ compensation upside.” The study also stated that the company’s stock price had increased by 33% so far this year.
Satya Nadella stated there would be no pay rise
Satya Nadella recently informed Microsoft employees through internal email that no pay raises would be given this year. Insider was shown the email. It stated that Microsoft does not “take decisions lightly” and that “this year, the economic conditions are very different across many dimensions.” The firm went on to say that although it “will have salary increases for certain hourly or equivalent roles,” it “won’t have salary increases for full-time salaried employees this year.”
Microsoft also pledged to keep “investing in its employees through bonuses and stock awards.” The business added that it is dedicated to giving its staff members chances for professional development.
