Childhood and Early Life

Abha Singhal’s childhood was surrounded by sorrows because her parents got divorced shortly after her birth, due to which her childhood was spent in a lot of sorrows. Due to Abha’s interest in studies, she scored well and got a scholarship to pursue an MBA in London.

During her stay abroad, she acquired a love for khichdi, a simple and healthful Indian meal with nutrition. Her return to India, however, led to a period in the modelling industry, where she appeared in advertising for well-known companies. Despite her modelling fame, Abha aspired to a more stable profession.

How she start Khichdi Express?

In 2019, she started “Khichdi Express” in Hyderabad, inspired by her passion for khichdi, with a minimal investment of Rs 3 lakh and a small crew. Abha Singhal’s concept evolved beyond khichdi to include pakodas and other regional cuisines. The brand expanded its reach by utilizing internet platforms such as Swiggy and Zomato.

Khichdi Express arose as a beacon of light during the difficult times of the COVID-19 epidemic by giving free meals to people in need. Abha grew her firm from Rs 50 crore to Rs 50 crore in four years, with plans for additional development. Her ultimate ambition is to make Khichdi Express a global brand on par with McDonald’s and KFC.
