National Common Mobility Card: NCMC Card to Transform Your Toll, Parking and Metro Experience; Check Out What it Offers

National Common Mobility Card

National Common Mobility Card: Soon, passengers using Delhi’s public transport system will be able to purchase bus tickets and use the same card to enter the metro. The Delhi government plans to integrate the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) and DTC buses with the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) compliant system. In the upcoming years, more transit choices will be provided to improve travel convenience. For this, an offer was made; the matter is still technically being looked at. An official stated that work will soon be done to put this procedure into effect locally.

NCMC Integration in Delhi Approaches as Officials Review Tenders

A top official claims that tenders were out a few months ago and that the department has examined each and every offer that was received. The official stated, “We also requested bidders to conduct demo sessions for a few days, and the results have also been evaluated.” The assignment will now be provided in a week. The initiative will be put into action on the ground in roughly three months after the task is assigned.

Common Mobility Card Aims to Revolutionize Delhi’s Bus Travel

The primary goal of the Common Mobility Card is to replace the ticket system with the One-Nation-One-Card feature. In Delhi, 40 lakh passengers take buses every day on average, according to an Indian Express study. Maintaining records of every ride is crucial for effective bus number planning on Delhi’s more than 500 bus routes. According to officials, the digital ticketing system is also a component of the transport department’s route rationalisation project, the pilot phase of which began in October 2022.
