Ola Electric MoveOS 3: With innovative features and power packed performance, this e-scooter is more than just a scooter

Ola Electric MoveOS 3: This Diwali, Ola launched the S1 Air, its entry point into its electric mobility ecosystem, at an introductory price of Rs 79,999. In addition to the new Ola electric scooter, the Bengaluru-based manufacturer unveiled the new MoveOS 3 OTA update, which includes features like fast charging and hill-hold assist, as well as user interface improvements.

The new MoveOS 3 update includes features that were promised in 2021, such as hill-hold assist, moods, and regen. The most important feature now available via this OTA update is the unlocking of fast-charging capability. Ola claims to have installed 50 hyperchargers across the country, which can provide an Ola S1 with a range of 50 kilometres in just 15 minutes.

This update also includes three Moods

The three Moods (not to be confused with riding modes), which change the UI on the TFT display while also emitting a faux exhaust sound in accordance with the theme selected, via the onboard speakers. Another standout feature is the ‘party’ mode, which syncs the scooter’s lights to any soundtrack playing through the speakers.

The days of painstakingly punching in that six-digit passcode are over, as the latest software includes a proximity alert that allows the scooter to unlock itself as the rider approaches. It also includes Profile Sharing, which allows the e-scooter to be shared with others without disclosing the passcode.

MoveOS 3 now includes three levels of regenerative braking

This braking system giving the rider the option of adjusting the system’s intrusiveness to incrementally charge the battery pack as the e-scooter slows down. In addition, hill-hold allows the e-scoot to remain stationary on an incline with a simple tap of the brake lever.

Ola has stated that sign-ups for the beta version of MoveOS 3 will begin on October 25, with the OTA update being rolled out to all Ola S1 owners in December. In addition, the company has released a set of accessories compatible with all S1 variants, including a centre stand and a side step for pillions to sit sideways. Both of these add-ons will be available for purchase from January 2023 onwards.
