Pathaan box office collection: Bollywood has made a grand comeback with the release of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan. Reviving all the hopes and dreams of Indian cinema, the Siddharth Anand directorial’s opening day collection is estimated between Rs 52 cr – Rs 54 cr in the Hindi belt. The worldwide gross collection, meanwhile, has crossed Rs 100 cr on the first day itself. SRK is definitely the only Bollywood superstar who pulled audience out of their homes for the first time since the pandemic for a Hindi film. No doubt there. But are there any other factors that have affected the numbers? Well, just a few days ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked his ministers to refrain from speaking about films. This seems to definitely helped the SRK starrer.
PM Modi asks BJP leaders to refrain from making comments on film
A week ahead of the release of Pathaan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked his leaders to refrain from making tasteless remarks about the film. With several BJP leaders, including Ram Kadam and Narottam Mishra, criticising the filmmakers and Deepika Padukone’s orange swimsuit in the song Besharam Rang, which was released last year, PM Modi’s statement definitely boosted the confidence of the film industry.
Akshay Kumar welcomes PM Modi’s decision
Akshay Kumar had welcomed the decision with open arms. He had told the reporters, “Positivity is always welcome. And of our Prime Minister is saying something like this. He is India’s biggest influencer. If he is saying something and if things change, it’ll be great for the industry. And why not, things should change, because we go through so much.”

Despite mixed reviews, Shah Rukh Khan’s much-touted comeback film is doing well at the box office. Following the response on its first day (Wednesday, January 25), trade pundits predicted that Pathaan, directed by Sidharth Anand and produced by Yash Raj Films, would earn more than Rs 200 crore in the first five days.
