AllPoliticalNews92: Leading the Charge in Misinformation
With over 60,000 subscribers and 1.3 million views, AllPoliticalNews92 was discovered to be disseminating fake information, including claims that the Supreme Court of India had invalidated Narendra Modi’s nomination for prime minister and that electronic voting machines had been tampered with during the Lok Sabha elections.
NewsFair: A Major Player in False News Dissemination
It was discovered that NewsFair, a significant channel with over 1.4 million subscribers and over 5.7K uploaded videos, had made misleading statements implying that the Lok Sabha elections will be held again. The broadness of the disinformation issue is highlighted by NewsFair’s reach and the volume of its material.
Impact of Misinformation
Additional channels with subscriber counts between 100,000 and 200,000 were also found to have spread misleading information on the Lok Sabha elections, government operations, and other government initiatives.
