Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a beneficial scheme that provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year to farmers across India. This amount is disbursed in three equal installments every four months, helping farmers reduce their agricultural expenses. With over ₹3 lakh crore distributed so far and more than 11 crore farmers benefitted, the scheme has been a major support system. The 16th installment has been disbursed, and farmers are now looking forward to the 17th. However, certain hurdles may prevent some farmers from receiving their due amount.
Factors Leading to Potential Delays in the 17th Installment
- Incomplete e-KYC: Under the PM Kisan Scheme, farmers must undergo e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) verification. Failure to complete this process by March 31st could result in the 17th installment being held up.
- Pending Land Verification: Beneficiary farmers are required to complete land verification procedures. Those who fail to do so risk missing out on the 17th installment.
- Aadhaar-Bank Account Linkage: It is imperative for farmers to link their Aadhaar Card with their bank accounts to receive the 17th installment. Failure to complete this linkage may lead to payment delays.
- Incorrect Bank Account Information: Mistakes in bank account details, such as name, gender, or Aadhaar number discrepancies, can also hinder the disbursement of the 17th installment.
Options for Farmers
To address these concerns, farmers can take proactive steps:
- Visit the nearest Common Service Center (CSC) to complete both registration and e-KYC processes. CSC staff members are available to guide farmers through the necessary procedures.
