PM Modi: After the Union Cabinet meeting, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the Cabinet has approved the construction of 2,280 km of roads in the border areas of Rajasthan and Punjab. This project will see an investment of Rs 4,406 crore.
Focus on Infrastructure Development
Vaishnaw emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has placed a strong focus on the development of infrastructure in border regions. The approved road construction project is part of the government’s continued efforts to strengthen connectivity and infrastructure in these strategically important areas.
Enhancing Border Security and Mobility
The construction of these roads will significantly improve the ease of movement for both civilians and military personnel in remote border areas. Better infrastructure is crucial for national security, ensuring faster response times and improved access for defense forces stationed in these regions. Additionally, these roads are expected to facilitate economic growth by boosting trade and transport routes in the border districts.
Long-Term Vision for Development
The project aligns with the government’s broader vision of enhancing national infrastructure, especially in underdeveloped and strategically important regions. The road network in border areas has been identified as a key priority, and this development will further integrate remote areas into the national framework, providing better access to essential services and improving the overall quality of life for residents in these regions.
