We have received notification that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), often known as PMAY (U), has an extended deadline. It has been extended until December 31, 2024, with December being the final month of current year, set as the deadline for residences that have been approved or sanctioned.
Finance Ministry’s Notification
According to the Finance Ministry’s tweet, PMAY (U) makes it easier for urban migrants and the impoverished in industrial areas and the non-formal urban economy to acquire cheap rental housing by sanctioning over 118 lakh dwellings. In addition, they are situated close to their place of employment in a respected area.
Prime Minister’s Dedication
Over 90,000 homes constructed in Maharashtra as part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban were dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday. The Rainagar Housing Society in Solapur dedicated 15,000 of its homes to the nation. Thousands of handloom workers, vendors, power loom operators, rag pickers, beedi workers, truckers, and other citizen groups are among their benefactors.
PM Modi’s Remark
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that “Today the largest society under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been inaugurated.” He also remembered wanting to live in such houses as a child. Yesterday, on Friday, the nation was dedicated to the over 90,000 residences constructed in Maharashtra as part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban.
PMAY-Urban Statistics
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) has authorised 118.63 lakh dwellings thus far, according to data provided by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Of this, 79.02 lakh houses have been finished so far, and 113.53 lakh houses are still under construction. The project has received funding of Rs 8.11 lakh crore thus far; of that amount, the Central Government has disbursed Rs 1.55 lakh crore and the Centre has approved Rs 2 lakh crore.
