How to get the PUC certificate online?
Here is how you can download a copy of your PUC.
- Step 1: Go to the Parivahan website and access the VAHAN gateway.
- Step 2: Select “PUC Certificate.”
- Step 3: Type in the verification code, chassis number (the final five characters), and the registration number of the car.
- Step 4: Select “PUC Details” in step four.
- Step 5: Download or print the certificate of contamination.
What can happen if you don’t have a PUC?
The first time around, if the authorities find you operating a four-wheeler with an expired PUC certificate, you will be fined ₹1,000. Subsequently, for each subsequent offence, you will be assessed twice that amount. There can be legal repercussions as well if you are found driving a vehicle in the city with a PUC certificate that has expired. You will also be unable to obtain or renew auto insurance if you do not currently have a valid pollution control certificate. Note that state-by-state variations may occur in the fine amounts or legal ramifications of operating a vehicle with an invalid PUC certificate.
