Punjab News: In a landmark operation, Ludhiana Police, with the assistance of Assam Police, successfully cracked an inter-state cyber fraud gang, arresting two individuals from Guwahati. Seven additional individuals have been nominated in connection with the case. This operation led to the largest-ever recovery in India’s cybercrime history, totaling ₹5.25 crore, as per I4C data. Authorities also seized ATM cards and mobile phones involved in the fraudulent activities.

Historic Recovery and Police Commendation

The operation marks a significant victory in the fight against cybercrime, with the Ludhiana Commissionerate’s Cybercrime team being awarded the prestigious Director General’s Commendation Disc. The commendation is in recognition of the team’s unwavering dedication to ensuring public safety and tackling the evolving threat of cybercrime.

The success of this operation is credited to the leadership of Ludhiana Commissioner of Police, Kuldeep Chahal, and the efforts of key team members including SHO Inspector Jatinder Singh, ASI Raj Kumar, ASI Paramjit Singh, HC Rajesh Kumar, Ct Rohit Bajaad, and Ct Simrandeep Singh. Their diligent work set a new standard in cybercrime investigations.
