Punjab News: Punjab will observe Vigilance Awareness Week from October 28 to November 3, as the Vigilance Bureau (VB) aims to heighten awareness among citizens and public servants on the importance of a corruption-free administration. The initiative is designed to foster transparency, accountability, and integrity in public service. During the week, various programs will be conducted to educate and engage communities on ethical practices and the state’s anti-corruption stance.
Chief Minister Vows Zero Tolerance Towards Corruption
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reinforced Punjab’s commitment to its zero-tolerance policy on corruption, likening corrupt acts to serious offenses that undermine the dignity and integrity of the state and its people. He expressed his aspiration for a corruption-free Punjab that will drive sustainable development across both public and private sectors. “It is my dream to see a corruption-free Punjab with everlasting development,” he stated, urging citizens to support the government’s efforts against corruption.
Vigilance Bureau’s Commitment to Transparency
Varinder Kumar, Special DGP and Director of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, highlighted the VB’s dedication to eradicating corruption and encouraged public cooperation in reporting malpractices. The bureau, he noted, is committed to upholding the integrity of the administration and safeguarding the public interest.
Punjab’s Vigilance Awareness Week underscores a collective movement towards transparent governance, aiming to build a corruption-free environment in collaboration with public involvement and strengthened regulatory measures.
