RE Himalayan 462cc: With the Himalayan in 2017, Royal Enfield helped establish the adventure motorcycle culture in India. The stock ADV is already fairly capable, but modders are constantly working to raise its bar. One such illustration is this updated 462cc Himalayan that a YouTube user by the name of Motos Cades & Coffee customised.
The modder installed a performance camshaft, a straight flow air intake, and a Hitchcocks 462cc Big Bore Kit to increase the engine’s power over stock. New front and rear sprockets are also added, as well as a Powertronics programmable ECU system.
RE Himalayan 462cc: Increased power
These bits have a larger cubic capacity, which also boosts the ADV’s power output to a healthy 34PS, a major improvement over the stock 24.8PS. The modder also claims that with the updates, the ADV can reach the 130kmph mark sooner and sustain such speeds more easily than the stock bike. It has a new heavy-duty clutch setup. The bike also got a brand-new bespoke PowerRage slip-on exhaust for more top-end grunt. Oh, and a new engine guard is also present.
A 411cc, fuel-injected, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with an oil cooler powers the standard Himalayan, delivering 24.8PS and 32Nm. However, a new, larger, more luxurious, and more potent Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is scheduled to go on sale by the year’s end.
