Skoda Auto: A Czech automobile manufacturer, is contemplating leaving China, the world’s largest market for automobiles, because of the increasingly fierce competition there. The CEO of the company, Klaus Zellmer, was interviewed by the weekly publication Automobilwoche and stated that the final decision will be made the following year. He stated that “the competition is really severe there,” and as a result, “we will examine, together with our Chinese joint venture partner, how we want to go.”
He continued by stating that if the business wanted to concentrate its efforts, it should first consider every possibility before making a choice. Skoda is currently exploring the possibility of directing the majority of its attention and resources toward India. When asked about manufacturing operations in China, the top executive of the corporation said that the business might instead focus on selling automobiles in that country.

Skoda sold a huge quantity of automobiles in India
It was stated at the beginning of this month that India had surpassed China to become Skoda’s third largest market. India is now larger than China. In the first ten months of this year, Skoda sold a greater quantity of automobiles in India than it did in China during the same time period.
Kushaq was the first model to emerge from the MQB-A0-IN platform, which enables up to 95 percent of the parts to be sourced from within India. This may have played in the Czechs’ favour as part of the India 2.0 plan, which refocused attention on the country.
Skoda will Extend its Sales and Network in India
Skoda further asserts that it has worked to extend its sales and service network in India while simultaneously working to reduce the expenses of vehicle maintenance. The ‘Made in India’ versions are also being sold from this location to nations in the Gulf region of the Middle East. And moving forward, Skoda says it aims to assemble both the Kushaq and the Slavia in Vietnam with parts exported from its facility in Chakan. This will happen in the near future.
