CNG Vehicles 2022: Cars Powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in India: There are currently 25 CNG models available for purchase in India; among these models, Maruti Suzuki has the most number of CNG vehicles. The rise in popularity of compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles has led major automakers such as Tata, Maruti, and Hyundai to increase the number of CNG vehicles in their product lineup. Check out these cars that ran on compressed natural gas and were released in 2022.
1. Maruti Swift Dzire
Maruti Suzuki’s Dzire and Swift models, both of which are available in a compressed natural gas (CNG) version, are two of the most well-liked automobiles in the country. Customers are drawn to any of these automobiles because to the luxury package and the various features they offer. These are powered by a four-cylinder engine that has 1.2 litres of displacement. When compared to the mileage that the Swift CNG model achieves, the mileage that the DZire CNG achieves is 31.12 km/kg, whereas the mileage that the Swift CNG achieves is 30.9 km/kg.
2. Maruti XL6
The Maruti XL6 is a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) that is one of the most cost-effective and versatile models available in the country and is in direct competition with automobiles such as the Kia Carens. The CNG version of the XL6 has been released, and the price has been set at Rs. 12.24 lakhs, without including the cost of the showroom. It is equipped with a 1.5-liter K5C engine, which provides the necessary power. The mileage that can be expected from this vehicle is 26.32 kilometres per kilogramme.

3. Toyota Glanza
Maruti Suzuki and Toyota Glanza are the first premium hatchback models in the country to be introduced with CNG kit already installed from the factory. The Maruti Baleno CNG has a price of Rs. 8.28 lakh when purchased from the dealership, while the Toyota Glanza has a price of Rs. 8.43 lakh when purchased from the car dealer. The 1.2L K12 bi-fuel CNG engine will supply both automobiles with the necessary power.

4. Maruti Alto K10
CNG versions of the Maruti Alto K10, Celerio, and S-Presso have all been released by Maruti. Maruti has also launched CNG versions of these vehicles. These three different hatchback vehicles each come with the option of a gasoline or compressed natural gas (CNG) powerplant. It is equipped with a 1.0-liter K10C engine, which provides the necessary power. Maruti Alto K10 has a fuel economy of 33.85 kilometres per kilogramme, making it one of the options. While the S-Presso achieves a mileage of 32.73 km/kg, the Celerio CNG achieves a mileage of 35.6 km/kg.
5. Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor
In addition, CNG versions of the Tiago and Tigor have been released by Tata, which has contributed to the company’s expansion of its CNG vehicle line. Both of these vehicles may be purchased for less than ten million rupees (ex-showroom) and are considered to be among the safest automobiles available for purchase in the country. The maximum mileage that this vehicle is capable of achieving is 26.49 kilometres per kilogramme. These models are offered with 1.2L Revotron gasoline and 1.2L Revotron bi-fuel compressed natural gas engines.
