Mr. Robinson shared information about the theft on social media after the police were unable to assist him. He included images of the cars. Mr Robinson’s friend Jamie noticed the message and told him he saw someone trying to sell the Seat on a Snapchat story. The thief, when he tried to buy the car, demanded 2,000 pounds.
Meanwhile, Jamie assisted him in using the reverse image search function. After identifying a housing complex by the name of the bin in the picture, they were able to narrow down the area. Before telling the police, the two used Google Earth to pinpoint the precise street where the car was parked.
Subsequently, Mr. Robinson managed to retrieve the Seat, which was discovered “parked up with no one around” in West Bromwich, a mere six miles from his Birmingham residence.
The sixteen thousand-pound Volkswagen Golf has still not been located, and the police have requested anyone with information to get in touch.
