US Business Visa: Businessmen will now receive their US visas more quickly than previously. It’s possible that this system will go live in April. Families of professionals with H1B visas working in the United States can also take advantage of the opportunity to extend their visas within the country.
US-India Trade Policy Forum Meeting
These topics were covered at a US-India Trade Policy Forum meeting last Friday in New Delhi, which was led by US Ambassador Katharina Tai and Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. Goyal stated on Saturday that obtaining E-1 and E-2 visas takes a long time and that America has been asked to shorten the process.
April Timeline for Visa Improvements
According to him, visas will become available in less time starting in April. As of now, there are no issues with student visas. Although H1B visa holders no longer need to travel to India in order to renew their visas, their families are not eligible for this benefit, according to him.
India had asked America to grant this facility to the family as well, and America had responded with a resounding affirmation. Import-export business owners need an E-1 visa. The E-2 visa is necessary for people who work in America as investors. This visa takes several months to obtain.
Government Procurement Dialogue
According to Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal, there was substantial discussion during the forum meeting on both countries’ increased participation in each other’s government procurement. India’s exports can rise dramatically if it participates in US government procurement. But, America will also need to give India a chance in the country’s government procurement in exchange.
