Vande Bharat Train: According to North Central Railway, Tuesday, the long-anticipated Saharanpur-Prayagraj Vande Bharat Express would run via Bareilly exclusively. The Bareilly-Lucknow route has been finalized for the train in view of existing rail traffic conditions and the already saturated Aligarh-Kanpur route.
Vande Bharat Express Expansion
Vande Bharat Express via Bareilly started running in March this year, and its variables led to taking similar decisions. The Saharanpur-Prayagraj Vande Bharat Express is approved for starting after Diwali, making available a quicker and better travel solution for passengers between the two cities.
Railway authorities had taken two routes for surveying to decide on the most feasible route for the new Vande Bharat Express: Saharanpur via Bareilly-Lucknow and Saharanpur via Aligarh-Kanpur. It was finalized that the Bareilly-Lucknow route would be the most efficient after thorough evaluation of both routes. It has been pointed out by the North Central Railway that the Aligarh-Kanpur route already runs a very heavy density of trains and that any further introduction of service will have an effect on the present smooth running, which requires realignment of several existing schedules.
Saharanpur-Prayagraj Vande Bharat Express to Operate via Bareilly
This was further cemented when Railway Board Chairman Jaya Verma Sinha visited Prayagraj recently and spoke to railway officials regarding operational plans. There was little doubt about the consensus: the Saharanpur-Prayagraj Vande Bharat Express would run via Bareilly-Lucknow.
It has prepared a new timetable, which will be effective from December 1, in which the timings of Saharanpur-Prayagraj Vande Bharat Express and Bareilly-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express—which is still in the pipeline—will be included, and it’s going to be worth looking out for.
Senior DCM Aditya Gupta has confirmed that the time table of trains for the affected railway divisions is under study presently, and the finalized schedules of these Vande Bharat Express trains are going to be published by the end of December. This would increase the connectivity and convenience of travel for passengers in the region.
