Viral News: Srikanti Kumar Dutta, whose name was printed three times incorrectly as Srikanti Kumar “Kutta” on his ration card, gained popularity for his dog howls as outrage against an official. However, his name has been finally corrected.
A video from Bengal’s Bankura became popular a couple of days ago. Since then, the man’s surname became a viral news. In the video, a man can be heard barking like a dog to have his ration card corrected.
Srikanti’s surname was wrongly printed
When Srikanti Kumar Dutta’s repeated requests for the officials to amend his name went unanswered, he devised a creative form of protest. It was printed as Srikanti Kumar Kutta instead of Srikanti Kumar Dutta. Hindi for “kutta” is “dog.”
Dutta expressed his gratitude to the media for aiding in the change of his name from Kutta to Dutta. As his name was misprinted twice before, according to Dutta, he was forced to submit a third application for rectification.

Srikanti says that he had to apply thrice
In a statement, Srikanti said, “I applied for a correction of the name on the ration card thrice. On the third time, my name was written as Srikanti Kutta instead of Srikanti Dutta. I was mentally disturbed by this.”
Continuing further, he said “Yesterday, I went to apply for correction again and on seeing the joint Block District Officer (BDO) there, I started acting like a dog in front of him. He didn’t respond to my query and ran away. How many times will common people like us leave work and go to apply for corrections?”
