Weather Update: The Meteorological Department has issued a red notice for snowfall in the state’s high mountains and medium altitude areas, as well as rain in the lower elevations, throughout the day. There will be a yellow lightning advisory in several areas today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that Delhi’s weather will likely stay gloomy throughout day. On March 3, the meteorological office forecasted light rains along with strong gusty winds. In addition, IMD has issued a rain alert for today in the national capital due to the anticipated dip in temperature. For the Western Himalayan Region, the Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning that is expected to last until March 3, 2024. It also includes fair to widespread mild to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning for the same.

In numerous cities across different states, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning on severe winds, rain and hailstorms. In isolated locations over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, IMD forecasts significant rainfall and snowfall. Thunderstorm, lightning, gusty winds (30–40 kmph), and hailstorm are likely to occur in isolated locations over Bihar and Jharkhand. Elsewhere in Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Sikkim, there is a possibility of lightning, gusty winds (30–40 kmph), and isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha.
