World Environment Day 2023: The World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5. At a time when Global Warming is at its peak with abnormal storms and cyclones, it has become more important than ever to work towards building a safe and sustainable environment. World Environment Day 2023 is a reminder to all of us to come under the same umbrella and do our bit for the protection of mother earth and the environment.
Jaggi Vasudev, prominently known as Sadhguru, has been advocating for the environment and its well-being for quite some time now. Via Isha Foundation’s Cauvery Calling and Save the Soil movements, the spiritual guru has been generating awareness to safeguard nature.

About Sadhguru’s Save Soil movement
Sadhguru’s Save Soil movement aims to educate and raise awareness about soil extinction, as per Isha Foundation. The movement commenced on 21 March 2022, setting its founder Sadhguru on a 100-day motorcycle journey through 26 countries across the world. During this journey, the spiritual guru held events to raise awareness about soil degradation and advocate for bringing organic matter back to agriculture processes.

“Food doesn’t come from Uber Eats, it comes from soil. The healthier the soil, the healthier your food, the healthier your body”, Sadhguru said. When asked what can be done to preserve the soil by a youth member in the audience, he replied: “start local, involve your neighbourhood, start a vegetable garden, get your hands in the soil – not in the dirt as is commonly said, as soil is not dirty – it is rich, it is our foundation of a healthy life and a safe environment.”
